Eid ul-Adha

Today is holiday..all muslim all over the world are celebrating hari raya aidladha or known as hari raya haji...same goes to me. Every year, millions of Muslims make the journey to Mecca in Saudi Arabia to perform the haj, one of the five basic tenets of Islam. Aidiladha also commemorates the sacrifices made by the Prophet Ibrahim, who demonstrated immense faith when he was put to the test by God. Prophet Ibrahim was commanded to offer his son Ismail up for sacrifice, and though it grieved him greatly, he made ready to perform the task. However, as he was about to strike his son, God stopped him and revealed that it was a trial. Ismail’s life was spared, and a ram was sacrificed in his place. As such, during Aidiladha, the sacrifice of four-legged animals such as lambs, goats, cows, bulls and camels is performed. The slaughter of the animal is done after the congregational prayer in the morning of Aidiladha. The animals are killed in accordance with the proper religious rites and the meat is then distributed. One third of the meat is given to the individual who made the sacrifice, while the rest is given to the poor and deserving people in the community. Making the sacrifice (korban) is not a compulsory religious duty, but an obligations for those who are able to afford.

Trip to Indonesia..

I haven’t been the best at keeping up with my blog. However, I fully intended to update my blog after I coming back from a trip to Indonesia. My family and i off to Indonesia on November 27th and we had been there until November 30th. We stayed in Indonesia for 3 nights and 4 days. We are then on our way to Jakarta and Bandung. Indonesia is made up of a string of islands located off Southeast Asia. I enjoyed riding the plane. I went there with Air Asia. I arrived at SOEKARNO-HATTA airport at 8 am indonesia time and 9 am local time,so i had been fly up high bout 2 hours. The representative from Narsco Travel agency meet and greet all of us at the airport and then ntinuing the 2 hours journey to Bandung by parawisata bus. The man who responsible in guiding us from Jakarta to Bandung spoke no English, but was very kind. His name is Pak Irdi. Bandung is surrounded on three sides by beautiful volcanic peaks and is a little off beaten track for most travellers, it should be an interesting place to visit, especially the surrounding areas. Their speciality was Nasi Padang and it was the best food I ever had for my lunch. Memories of Nasi Padang outlets are still fresh in my mind till today. The restaurants there are very nice and unique. Bandung is a big city in west java and also known as paris van java. It is because Bandung has a lot of factory outlet or boutique or something like that like in Paris-France, example at riau, dago, cihamplas street n many more
TANGKUBAN PARAHU MOINTAIN is known with Sangkuriang and Dayang Sumbi Lagend. There are two big craters: Ratu (Queen) crater (Kawah Ratu, the main crater) and Domas crater (Kawah Domas). Kawah Ratu is the biggest crater and you can park your vehicle just beside this crater. I gotta chance to visit Kawah Ratu, bout half an hour i just stand up at the watching post, looking at the crater with panoramic view. An amazing landscape which compares to nothing I've experienced before, the rocks underfoot where warm and some were red hot. The foul smell of a smoky sulfur welcomed us. However, the amazing sight of the crater allowed us to bear the smell.
I went to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah in Jakarta on the 3rd day. I was under the impression that it was just another park. Its very nice as they have various traditional homes of the different provinces in Indonesia and whats even better is that you can go inside these houses and you can see the traditional clothes for weddings and so forth. For a short visit to Jakarta, or a better introductory to know Indonesia completely, this place is worth a visit about Indonesia’s diverseness. Taman Mini Indonesia Indah was much, much more than just the miniature Indonesia exhibit. Last minute shopping at ITC CEMPAKA MAS SHOPPING CENTER and MANGGA 2 before transfer to airport for next flight to Kuala Lumpur. After all the fun, we went home with joy and hope to come back next time..Indonesians are very nice.
